To be or not to be a wine country girl? It’s not really a question actually. My favorite is when the leaves sparkle as the sun hits them. When there are roses blooming at the end of the rows of green vines. To me it is like a symbol of what is to come and what is to taste and what is always around us; life, death, the chance for something great or the chance that things are already great. Wine country to me is magical and mythical full of both the light and the dark; a spectrum that one needs to be whole. So if being enchanted by all of this makes me a wine country girl than so be it.

Getting excited about vacation to the Russian River. Major Hanami will be taking place while we lounge by the pool under the redwoods.
Sometimes its not about the grape you like or your favorite type of wine. Its more about the time of day, mood you’re in and company your with. “Yes a sparkling does sound nice right about now.”
Have you every seen the movie Sideways? Do you remember the scene where Maya is describing what she thinks of when tasting wine? It goes something like this:
Well this is the game we like to play when we drink wine. Wine can be extremely complex and simple at the same time. I love that when it comes down to it wine doesn’t take itself too seriously its only the people around it that do.
Listening to the story of the wine does what it is supposed to. It engages you with your intuition. In many ways it is a very sacred experience. Grounding yourself and then tapping into the story wine has to offer can often help you tap into yourself and your story.
Next time you have a glass of wine ask the wine - what story do you have to tell; what wisdom. You might be surprised what you hear and feel.
